These first two paintings seem like illustrations to something. There is a letter from Marguerite Henry to Wesley
discussing a couple illustrations he was working on for the book that ended up being Mustang, Wild Spirit of the West
that sound a lot like these. Unfortunately, Wesley passed away, and the book was published with illustrations by
Robert Lougheed.
I think these illustrations bear striking similarities to the illustrations in The Ice Bird by Pauline
Innis. Perhaps they were unused. The little bird seems a bit creepy to me, but the swans in flight are lovely.
These appear to be Indians on a raft with a slain deer. Anyone know if it's from a Wesley Dennis illustrated book?
I've wondered if it was a Denny Card.
Can anyone identify this gentleman?
